With it being International Women’s Day, meet Galina. She is in charge of the Berdianske (Berdyns’k) medical point. Located on Ukraine’s southern coastline on the Sea of Azov, she’s the only health professional working in the village. If she wasn’t there, people would have to travel long distances to receive medical treatment.

“I have been working in Berdianske for 26 years and know some of my patients from the time they had their first baby bottles. It’s simple – I still live and work near the front line because I feel a sense of responsibility towards the people around me.”
