A summary of the work carried out by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine. Website. This relates to their excellent and much needed, winter aid program, which with Spring upon is, is now winding down. Assisting families and individuals on both side of the line, aid can range from cash payments to help pay fuel bills and home insulation kits. Many of those in greatest need are the elderly, with pensioners making up the bulk of civilians living in the remoter villages in the conflict area.

Red Cross staff are to be commended for their tenacity and bravery. They too risk their lives driving often large trucks and vehicles in an active war zone, along damaged and snow covered roads.
