May 24th video, shows Russian occupation forces shelling the outskirts of the village of Hranitne. Located in the Donetsk Oblast (province) the village sits on the banks of the river Kalmius and has a population of around 2,000 inhabitants. The firing, which is said to have been carried out by Russian tanks, went on for some time. Damage was done to a farm and several houses had windows blown in.
“The blasts were heard very well.” said local resident Igor Popov.
“It was so loud that it was blowing in the windows. But we could not hide, because there is no basement for us.” – local resident Varvara Kuznetsova tells.
Thankfully, no civilians were injured, but it could have been a very different story. With shelling such as this carried out during daylight hours, people will be working in the fields, going about there everyday lives and as witnessed by the little boy (start of video) riding his bike, children will be outside playing. But then, since when has Putin been concerned for any life other than his own?
