Possibly down to the heavy snow fall and poor visibility, but Russia’s forces are a little quieter than formal. Over the last 24hrs – As of 7am this morning, they’d only opened up once, with no Ukrainian casualties reported.
With sadly no longer either a functioning school or youth club in the village, on Jan 2nd, the Ukrainian army provided presents and festive fun for the 30 children still living in Orlivske. Near Ukraine’s south coast and the city of Mariupol, the village sits on the 457km front line. To me, there remains nothing more satisfying than seeing children having fun and forgetting their growing up in a war zone.
