We are still seeing a steady rate of firing back and forth across the front line. Use of mortars has certainly increased, along with the occasional firing from armoured fighting vehicles and anti-aircraft guns.
No surprises then that casualties and damage to buildings have increased in tandem.
Yesterday, Russia’s forces killed 1 Ukrainian soldier. Ukraine’s 6pm situation report lists another soldier killed and 2 wounded today. Total of 258 mortar shells are said to have been fired at Ukrainian territory today.
Pictures below show the damage to civilian houses in the villages of Zolote and Novooleksandrívka. In the Luhansk Oblast (province), they were hit by Russian shells this morning around 5am.
